Re: New Album... Tour?

I have just recently red an interview that include Roger, Dave, Nick, and Rick. It was something of a reunion based interview. Rick had gone to see Roger live and went to speak with him back stage. From what they both said in the interview, no apologies were made, but there didn't really seem to be any tension. Except for Rogers remark, "He was just smiling, I think he had had a few." The article had gone on in a few different area's. Dave had asked Roger on a few occasions to rejoin, even invited Roger to his birthday party...but he politely declined each time. Then proceeded to say that (when talking about "THE WALL") they (Nick, Dave, Rick) don't do their own work, "they get everyone else to do it for them." As for any new Floyd...I think we might see something, minus Roger. In all hopes, they will step back to atom heart mother, meddle, dark side and maybe even saucer, with a little wywh and animals in there...damn that would be awesome. Ah, one can only wish...

Re: New Album... Tour?

But if you read the account on www.pinkfloyds.com, the "he had a few" comment really begins to look like a lie. And I also spoke to someone else who was there at that concert, who concurs that it was a lie.

Re: New Album... Tour?

Sorry, to disappoint guys, but Floyd ARE finished. There will be no reunion, there will be no tour. The rumours are all wrong...

Don't believe me...how do I know?, let's just say read the latest Dave Gilmour interview in the Pink Floyd issue of MOJO magazine out on Monday, and you'll see what I mean! (I friend gave me a preview copy).

Also, re: Best Of tracklisting. The one posted on this website is so totally wrong (ie; Piper-The Wall era). The actual tracklisting has stuff from ALL albums (except the More & Clouds soundtracks and Atom Heart Mother). Although I prefer the one on this site because it had Fearless on it, which sadly is not on the album.

Re: New Album... Tour?

I'm afraid we are disclaiming rumours with other rumours. Maybe the band does not foresee a new album. that doesn't mean never. Waters claims to have a solo album in the near future. As to the "Echoes" best of album. I'll believe the track listing when I see it on the sleeve.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but is "Up the Khyber" not on More?

Re: New Album... Tour?

True, but "Up The Kyhber is not on the tracklisting I've seen...but Dave said it still COULD still change, when speaking to EMI they said they are still arguing about it with only days left for production deadlines!!!

Here it is though:
Arnold Layne/See Emily Play/Astronomy Domine/Bike/Set The Controls/Jugband Blues/One of These Days/Echoes/Time/The Great Gig/Money/Us & Them/Wish You Here/Shine On/Sheep/Another Brick/The Happiest Days/Hey You/Comfortably Numb/When The Tigers Broke Free/Fletcher Memorial Home/Learning to Fly/Sorrow/Marooned/Keep Talking/High Hopes

The tracklisting, James Guthrie says, is NOT chronological though, most tracks have been edited and it runs as a continous piece of music (obviously it stops when you have to put in the other CD!!!)

...well, at least you get different versions of the tracks!!!

Re: New Album... Tour?

Thank you, albatross. I do not believe we can "call" this until we have the article in our hands. And whatever happens with Pink Floyd, we oughtn't give up on solo efforts. Mr. Waters is almost certain to put out a new solo album. When--we do not know. But I don't think he will abandon a project after declaring it by demoing (is that a word?) a song during ITF. Also, all of the DG gigs COULD (warning--unfounded speculation ahead) signal something very interesting from him. Also, we never know what Mr. Wright is doing that he isn't speaking about.

Re: New Album... Tour?

also check out the new issue ofQ mag...cause they have a small article (with about 8 photos) of Storm and Peter Curzon shooting the new Floyd cover.

...the one on this website is not the finished one (army seargent in different position, articles moved about, man has flames on him, the type is totally different). I think this must have been an earlier version. Although Amazon.com still is running with it....

Re: New Album... Tour?

Hmm, I thought it was bad enough to have Keep Talking on the same album as A Great Day For Freedom. But mixing it in with Echoes, Comfortably Numb, and, uh, half the Dark Side of the Moon...well, that's just heresy. Hope they took that into consideration for the actual track listing.

The cover does have the light guy from Delicate Sound of Thunder, though, so it'll likely span the post-Wall albums.

Re: New Album... Tour?

Scroll up to read the track listing, mate.

I'm listening to my advance copy of "Echoes: Best Of" as we speak (benefits of working for a music mag!). Haven't got the artwork though

Sounds great, (if a little strange to hear songs like See Emily Play segue straight intro The Happiest Days/Another Brick)

Re: New Album... Tour?

10 years and counting!

How many bands do you know who have had such a period of inactivity and then managed to get it back together again?
I can think of one but they're much younger than Dave and Co.

Re: New Album... Tour?

Who else would it be?

The Bunnymen split in 1988 and made a triumphant comeback in 1997.

Re: New Album... Tour?

You know, I have never heard anything by Echo and the Bunnymen. Should I buy an album?
