Talking

I enjoy the track as well, the chorus caught me off guard the first time around.
"Dr. Strange is always changing size"--what a lyric, abstract creativity.

yes, I think the MORE Soundtrack is highly underrated. The Nile Song, Green is The Colour, More Blues, Main Theme, and Ibiza Bar are great songs. Quicksilver, A Party Sequence, and A Spanish Piece, however, are not very good.

Okay, you've caught me. The first time I heard Pary Sequence, I had a giant smile on my face. The music must have spoke to me because I was up and dancing around my room. it's okay, but it's what, barely over a minute long. A Spanish Piece is kind of funny, but there is also a time issue there.

Remember "time" is not a factor, embrace the project as a whole.

I'm pretty sure Amazon has it, if not, try Tower Records. 'More' is only availible on VHS, but they also have 'La Vallee' on DVD & VHS. I plan to buy these once I scrape up some cash

Actually, More was also released on DVD in the UK (Region 2 only): Check it out.

And I just saw Shakespeare's Cymbeline at the Ontario Stratford Festival... it wasn't bad, but had absolutely nothing to do with the song that I could see. That's the second time I've gone to a play there primarily to find out what it could possibly have to do with Pink Floyd (the first one was Gigi).

Re: Cymbaline meaning

I think the word Cymbaline is either a girls name who he wants to wake next to or a Cymbal Line like a line of cymbals sounding to wake him. I like to interpret it as both and the "high time" as two ways also.

And it's high time It's a high time, great time, I know I feel high when dreaming
Cymbaline Addressing his girl about this high time he's experiencing
It's high time It's about time cause this trippy ass dream is turning on me
Cymbaline I need a line of cymbals and that stand up thing roger beats on
Please wake me to wake me or alert me to start trippin on something new cause
this is too intense

Re: Cymbaline meaning

Being a great fan of The Bard, I have always been told that Cymbeline is one of his least appreciated works, along with Titus Andronicus.

But this thread got me to reading it after reading several reviews telling of its zaniness, the wild rhyming couplets and peculiarly illuminating preface -apparently unusual amongst his entire body of work.

I now only wish I had retrieved a previously abandoned Arden copy of this play so that I could read the interpretations of the play within that publication by those much more learned than myself.

Also, I tried to find any relationship to the Pink Floyd song of similar name, got side-tracked into reading of the ancient Kings of Britain, or "Perfidious Albion," but eventually had to agree with Botley that there is no discernible connection.

The play seems to take a lot of substance from other of his plays (The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet, etc.) and the Floyd song may well be about the main characters' travels on Ibiza in the film, More.

I fear I may well have to find - buy - the film to see how the song fits with it. This is despite warnings of reviewers that to acquire the film merely for this purpose will be a wasted effort; the actors talk over much of the soundtrack.

Re: Cymbaline meaning

Cymbaline is a woman's name: not a very common one. it means sun lord. He wants the sun to wake him from the nightmare.
