| The band's name The embrio for one of the most influent bands in history was the group Sigma 6, started by roger Waters, Rick Wright and Nick Mason, at the time arquitecture students in Cambridge University. As common to all beginner bands, it style wasn't yet defined, going from rock to folk, and the changing of band elements were an constant, so as the band's name changes (Abdabs and T-Sets). The big change taked place when Roger "Syd" Barret, that had studyed with Roger Waters at Cambridge High school went to band. It was first Barret's idea came up the name Pink Floyd Sound, later cuted to Pink Floyd (it was about the name from an album by Pink Anderson and Floyd Council double, Syd's influences). |
