Re: Division Bell

In my opinion TDB is PERFECT and i explain why.PF decided to create a chill music but from the other hand very emotional.from the first song u can notice this albom is a travel in their mind of the band.i think the lyrics in TDB is their best ever[i know some of u will disagree]COMING BACK TO LIFE is a masterpiece maybe couse i understand it differently from others[think for yourself]
every song in this albom is based on the mind inside even the instrumental songs
like people said before MAROONED in my opinion is a journey.
as i said before a PERFECT albom.

see inside there is nothing to hide [TDB]

Re: Division Bell

Joker Wild,

I was agreeing that tastes do indeed differ, and you were correct in assuming that I don't care much for TDB.

IMHO, without the sharp-edged Waters lyrics, it's just pseudo-PF and thus not really up to the mark.

I'm glad for shits that he/she finds something worthwhile in it though. It takes all kinds to make a world.

Re: Division Bell

I like it, alot.
It's relaxing, it flows, the music is fantastic, the lyrics aint to bad either, even superb (comming back to life & high hopes).
It's Dave, who's the main reason for me being a floyd fan.
IMHO this is the only floyd album that comes close to WYWH, as far as the mood that it sets.

What I don't understand is why you all arguing about it. If you don't like it, fine, don't listen to it. If you do, what do you care if others don't like it? I seriously doubt you need others' thumbs up to like it.

Re: Division Bell

I have to agree with shits, DB is perfect.
And I don't understand why Byron, being a real GeeDub, don't like it ;((

Re: Division Bell

Of course, you can't forget the other great thing about TDB, when compared to AMLoR, even several albums prior to that...Mr. Wright's work is superb!

Re: Division Bell

why doesn't it surprise me that you said that FloydWaters! I agree though...it was good to hear him back in the swing of things, and he did right some good stuff on the album.

Re: Division Bell

Hey, how could I resist? It's the truth, after all!

And I must say..."Wearing the Inside Out" is just heartrending. Same for "Marooned", but in a different way. Both are excellent songs. And "Cluster One" is quite calming--which I like.

Re: Division Bell

Hmmm....The Division Bell.

To be honest, I was really suprised when I heard the lyrics on Lost for Words, "They tell me to please go f*** myself." I wasn't expecting that out of Gilmour.

Also, I have a question....

Why doesn't my TDB have 4 lights in the middle of the two heads on the cover. I've seen it on fan sites and I always thought that people just added it through graphics program. Then I picked up a book called "Top 100 album covers"........and I saw the same four lights in between the faces. I DO know that my dad got for free this summer from the radio station he works at. It even has holes in the top corners.

Can someone give me a conclusion?

Re: Division Bell

Madcap Diamond...I don't think my cover has the four lights either. There are actually several slightly different versions of the album cover. The differences are between tape, record, and CD covers...and I think there are also some differences from country to country (ie the cover on the US version of the CD is slightly different to the cover of the UK release). Hope that helps.
