| Re: The Final Cut Live...do You Know ? I downloaded "The Final Cut Live" at http://www.dgerm.no-ip.org/ but then realized that Pink Floyd broke up before they got to play it live. I think that Waters might have played it as part of his solo career. www.pink-floyd-online.tk

| Re: The Final Cut Live...do You Know ? I am a big fan of The Final Cut. I realize it could have been better had a been more of a collaborative effort, but there are some truly classic lines/songs on it. Gunners dream is truly great. The line where Roger whispers "good, thats the only time when I can really speak to you" after "sweetheart, sweatheart are you fast asleep" is just spooky (in a good way). Had final Cut ended up as the third album of the wall - now, that would have been the best concept album of all time. The wall is fabulous on its own but I really see where The Final Cut takes it too another logical conclusion. Its funny, people on forums like these tend to argue back and forth about this and that - when in reality we should be thankful we have the oppurtunity to listen to and then discuss such great work. |

i agree, listen to the wall and the final cut straight through in one sitting(large time investment, but then again worth it)and they really do fit together quite well. the sax solo at the end of two suns in the sun set is a perfect outro.

I listened to it last night (Final Cut) and I was going to say the same thing as you did re the sax solo at the end - what an awesome end to the CD. What did strike me last night was how the start of the CD up to and including Gunners Dream sounds very "Floydish" but the rest of the CD sounds more like Waters solo stuff. Just another observation. |

| Re: The Final Cut Live...do You Know ? I think that was Roger's intention: to create a continuity leading from The Wall to Pros and Cons by way of The Final Cut. Quote:

| Re: The Final Cut Live...do You Know ? A quick lyrical question from the TFC. In Hero's return there is the line "and even now part of me files over Dresden at Angels One Five" - Dresden of course being a German City but what exactly does "Angels one Five" mean? I googled the line adn it brought up several aviation sites and a reference to a movie about the Battle of Britian. Is it an aircraft directional notation? If the answer is simple I am going to look like an idiot...lol |

| Re: The Final Cut Live...do You Know ? I would guess it was the fleet that did the bombing of dresden... just a guess though

| Re: The Final Cut Live...do You Know ? It seems weird to me that waterrs has only performed a few tracks from that album live. Songs such as final cut fletcher and two sjuns are pf classics and i would have thought these would have been performed before. Also maybe if they had got rouind 2 doing the tour then would pink floyd have stuck together? |

Ok, I am an idiot. I forgot that my brother is a bit of a WWII airplane buff. As it turns out, the term "Angels One Five" means flying at 15,000 ft. The Americans were famous (well the Brits thought they were silly actually) for using all kinds of slang and terms while flying. As the stories go, the Brits could not get them to shut up while in the air..lol. The Brits used to say "why not just tell the Germans where we are"... |
