Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave?

sounds correct to me cave animal. certanly he is bitter. wether or not he has "serious" grown up reason his a whole different question. He obviously broke away from floyd thinking it was over. he wanted them to break up. (since at that time there was only 2 members without him) he knew that if they went on they'd have more success than him and that ate at him. he had to be the best at everything he did. and when no one bought his albums (which aren't very good) and people we're buying dave's pf it ate at him more. so obviously he is a bitter, sad, and possibly lonely man.

Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave?

When I saw Roger for the Flesh tour he smiled, maybe even beamed. Never seeing this from him before threw me for a loop. Perhaps age has warmed his soul a bit. Perhaps I was stoned?

Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave?

We all know Roger is a flaming prima donna. His overbearing manner during the making of The Wall and The Final Cut are well
documented. Imagine going from being El Supremo (in his own mind) to odd-man-out overnight. That's what happened when he pompously announced Pink Floyd was dead. Instead of grovelling, begging Roger to stay, or simply slinking away into obscurity, Nick and Rick rallied to Dave's side. The reformed Pink Floyd went on to enormous successes without him, playing to huge venues while Roger's solo efforts were tepid and largely ignored. Think what an emotional shock that had to be for him.
But I think the coup de gras for Roger's bitterness was the loss of Bob Ezrin to Dave's camp. Ezrin was Roger's friend, goddamit! Roger was the one who knew him before, who befriended him, who brought him to Pink Floyd. Bob had promised to help Roger with Radio KAOS, but instead, went to work with Dave on Momentary Lapse. Roger was furious. It was as if his girlfriend had just been stolen away by his most bitter rival.

That's why he hates Dave.

THX Joey, likewise. Happy New Fiscal Year!

I'm sick of PF too, but we have to keep the newbies entertained.

Because, in short, He lost his mind. Not like Syd, but he lost his mind. How do you think Roger Would have come up with "The Wall" otherwise?

Although it would be nice. I would prefer that PF stopped making records....as they have as of right now. Nothing good comes out of forcing creativity.

The only place they would be burying hatchets would be in each others heads I reckon.

Could you explain what those hostilities were about? I've never heard of that before and can't find anything by googling for it.

Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave?

I was reading the interview with him in the MOJO special edition about floyd, and he is still bitter. He says about the Division Bell: to call THAT pink floyd? It was an awful record. He also says that he doesnt miss dave, and seems to have no plans to regroup or have anything to do with the band.
I wish personally he'd just get over it. All rock musicians are entitled to have an ego if they are as succesful as Roger Waters, but his ego is huge like Rush limbaugh. He needs to become more humble and realize that without Pink Floyd, he would be nothing.
