| Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? I understand that Roger quit the band, and Dave and the rest went on without him; Roger went to court to try to stop him and lost, etc...Why does Roger still despise Dave so much? If he was done with the band, why should he stop Dave from carrying on? I read an interview transcript of Gilmour (sorry, forget where...) and the question was what was the last time you saw Roger, and he said it was about a year or so ago (2002 interview) when Dave walked into a pub and saw Roger sitting there. Dave smiled and said "hello" and Roger and his entourage just walked out. Also I thought it was funny - I was reading a transcipt of a radio interview with Waters shortly after 'Amused to Death' was released, and a caller asked him if the 2nd Wish from 'Three Wishes' - "I wish somebody would help me write this song" - was a hint that he wanted to get back together with Dave. After that the transcript just read that Waters laughed, and the interviewer said "next question"...

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? It might be that Dave's PF (Pedestrian Fraud) has so tarnished the good name that was Pink Floyd in the late '60's to late '70's. However, in all fairness, Roger was doing that by himself t'wards the end of his involvement with the band anyway. But no matter. It also may have something to do with the fact that Roger plays to relatively tiny crowds on his own tours, whilst Fraud fill enormodomes, playing lots and lots of music that Roger originally wrote. Or it might be that he's a prick, as Dave stated in the interview that you refer to, above.

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? Right...Also, Roger kind of phased out the rest of the band by 'The Final Cut' as far as songwriting and singing...

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? Let's see: Waters wishes he had kept the PF name for himself but... 1. Gilmour "dared" ask for a trial against him. 2. He lost the case against Gilmour. 3. Gilmour has since then led a PF-named band. 4. He sees this band perform most of "his" songs. 5. His gigs are much less crowded than the ones by this band. Is that enough? |

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? It's really too bad that just can't bury the hatchet and do one more album and one more tour together. I would like that more than anything.

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? ya know honestly, im thinking its going to take the death of a member of pink floyd for the rest of them to reunite for a concert or tour, if that even happens i'd be surprised, but i think it would make the odds better.

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? I think every new PF fan is upset when they first learn about the '83 breakup, and hope that a reconciliation will take place. But this isn't the friggin' Eagles, Van Halen or Motley Crue. Were talking about Roger Waters here.

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? I read an interview a while ago, i honestly don't remember where its from, a german magazine comes to mind, but roger was asked why he didn't like dave and he simply said, "I just don't like him." He went on to say that when you spend so many years with someone that you just grow to not like them and such. They are two remarkably different personalities and its remarkable and a blessing that they managed to coexist as long as they did.

| Re: Why is Roger so bitter towards Dave? Well The Dead certainly put their differences aside for their 2003 tour. From what I've heard, they had some major problems before they finally all agreed to play.
