Anyone here like The Vines?

The Vines are this sorta new australian band. they're really good, or i like them a lot. i was just wondering if any of you people had heard of them? they are sorta new, but they're some of the best new music i've heard. they're close to being my second favourite band, pink floyd is the first of course. just wondering.

yea i have heard about them. their videos are very often played on slovenian tv.
i like them. their music kind of remindes me on Nirvana's.
i also like singer's voice and eyes (if you know what i mean :smile).

Haha! The guiitarist/singer guy looks like the dude from Never Been Kissed. They're okay. My dad's friend took him to one of their concerts once, and he said they sucked live.

yeah, you're lucky if you get a good live show from them, i saw them live and they were really good, mainly cause the lead singer wasnt on something that night, he normally just does whatever he wants, tahts why they got a second guitarist, cause he's not very dependable with taht stuff. but i was lucky, they're like one of my second favourite bands, i got the drummers drum stick, and its signed. yay

i like their new single, "Ride." I also liked "Outtatheway" or whatever. "Get Free," however, I hated quite thoroughly. Something about the vocals and guitar I did not like at all. I like the budding rock scene going on in those parts with The Vines and Jet and also the Datsuns, who are from NZ.

yeah saw today the video Winning days. nice. really impressed. like it very much !!

Yeah, I've heard a lot of their stuff, don't really like them, their sound reminds me of really abrasive nirvana without the songwriting ability. Contrary to a previous post, I did like "Get Free", but overall, they are pretty mediocre.

i love them, i saw the winning days video at my friends house on her computer two days ago, it hasnt come out in canada yet, but im still waiting. im going to see them again on july 6th. i think they're amazing. they are compared a lot to nirvana like you mentioned Zem, and i guess its cause they're also inspired by them. the lead singer loved nirvana when he was a kid and they all like them, so i guess thats why they sound like them.

I prefer the Strokes, but the Vines are pertty damn good.

I've heard of 'em. Haven't listened to 'em. Which album of theirs is best?

they only have two, i think their second "winning days" is better, but "highly evolved" is amazing too.

for 6 creepy months i have listend their music ALL THE TIME. non stop. totally obsessed. just couldn't help myself. now i'm recovering with a little help from Pink Floyd. but sometimes i still put on REPTILIA or TRYING YOUR LUCK or ALONE TOGETHER :smile:

I dig the Vines, i saw them live on television and they were pretty good. I like the Strokes alot too.

i read somewhere The Vines don't want to be compared to NIrvana.
they want to have their own image.
