passive singles?

What kind of passive single coils do you guys think is best for Dave's sound?

I have to replace the stock pups in my mexican strat really badly and am not too thrilled about all of this battery business for active pups.

He uses a hell of a lot of effects, so it's hard to say. In Live in Pompeii he used the factory pickups from his old school strat. You can pick up old pickups from really good used music stores or you can buy replicas.

I use Fender Vintage Noiseless Pickups. What makes them vintage sounding really is the lack of output. I love them all the way, really gives me that jimi hendrix, pink floyd 1967-1972, sound. really is great in my opinion, and has no feedback. Ow ya my bro uses EMG active pickups. the same david gilmour uses now. Very loud output. very clean, excellent, pro sound. very loud, and he uses it on his squier.
