Re: The New CD Thread

I just got Echo and the Bunnymen's Ocean Rain. Brilliant album actually, great instrumentation, superb lyrics etc. Funny thing is I got to know them of this site. I remember some English bloke(What's his name again?) speaking of them in a rather odd fashion. So I decided to download some. And to my suprise it was great, so I decided to get an album.

And that's basically how I get most of my CD's. Download some random stuff first and when I like it I buy it. So in my case downloading isn't bad for the music industry at all.

I understand Heaven Up here might be a good next purchase?

Re: The New CD Thread

You can't go wrong with the first four albums but be warned, the albums before Ocean Rain are much spikier. Crocodiles or Heaven Up Here would be a good next choice.

Re: The New CD Thread

Apparantly it's a good time to get into them, since they are coming up with a new album. Aren't they?

New album in August, tour to follow.

This might be a good album to get if you liked Ocean Rain.

You started in the same place as me, Lars, and for the same reasons....

Yes!!!! I've been saying that for YEARS. It's exactly the same thing I do.. Therefore.. by downloading, I am actually helping the music industry (although... not when i don't like what i hear)
anyway..

Mums, you'll have to bring Echo and the Bunnymen when you come over to Aus, so i can see what all the fuss is about.

cheerio

Re: The New CD Thread

I'll be bringing all my music with me on my trusty ol' iRivier. But, I agree with the downloading thing. I've been saying the same thing since the very beginning, not that it matters. The music industry will take years to realise the power of the internet to boost sales, and by the time they do, there will be a new, even more powerful medium out there, and they'll concentrate and stoping people getting music over that too.

I bought:

Led Zeppelin - How The West Was Won
Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse Of Reason

I also bought Inside out, written by Nick Mason.

Got some records too, wehaw.
