| Re: The New CD Thread Quote:
in ROLLING STONE magazine's TOP 50 ALBUMS of 2006 THOM YORKE/The Eraser came in #34 in RS TOP 100 SONGS of 2006 THOM YORKE/The Clock came in #31 Not that I agree with their picks, but, they do have a pretty good cross section of music in all genres from LADY SOVEREIGN to TOM PETTY to REGINA SPEKTOR to TOM WAITS to YEAH YEAH YEAHS to GNARLS BARKLEY to BOB DYLAN,etc. |

I unfortunatly have to agree with your above assessment... I have been reading the magazine since it started almost 40 years ago...The last few years it has been taking the same route as MTV..They both are abandoning POP/ROCK to more crossover type music that targets the RAP/HIP HOP crowd... |

| Re: The New CD Thread I just picked up the new release "The Road to Escondito" yesterday. The long time pals and one of the best Songwriter/Musician synergies EVER finally decided to do a duet album... J.J.Cale and Eric Clapton. Damn, It's GREAT !!! On a sadder note, but noteworthy none the less. This album showcases the final recordings of the late great Billy Preston.
