Yeah - what's with the inability to buy it new? Some great tracks on it - I think my favourite is Last Chance To Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled, or maybe Where We Would Be.

| Re: The New CD Thread It's out of print (they were still pretty unknown at that point), and unless you got extremely lucky like I did, you're most likely going to buy a Russian/Korean bootleg. I got an authentic one about a year ago from Amazon. One day they just suddenly had about a dozen in stock; of course, they were gone in a matter of minutes (I was lucky to have a friend who was in the right place at the right time). But "Lightbulb Sun" is slated for some reissuing treatment a la "Stupid Dream"...but Steven Wilson is pretty damn busy so far this year, what, with a new PT album among others. I'd say just wait to buy it until then...download it in the meantime.

| Re: The New CD Thread "All Saints" -David Bowie It's a compilation of his instrumentals, mainly from the "Low" and "Heroes" albums. The last track ("Some Are") is taken from the "Low Symphony" that Phillip Glass made and I really like it. I think that I will try to track that album down. |

| Re: The New CD Thread Hey Botley check out George Harrison's Cloud 9 also a great disc My new ones The Beatles-Love I know what alot of people are going to think(you to Dr Cheese wherever you are) that its another greatest hits album by the Beatles but it really is quite a listen not only with the 5.1 digital quality but with the sheer brillance of George Martin and his son Giles to present this package in a way that makes it fresh and absolutely fantastic. Simply put the songs were already classics but the way they mix them and put songs together is really remarkable. Enuff said any Beatles fan will Love this disc. I know I do. | Re: The New CD Thread I didn't buy the CD, a colleague at work burned a copy for me but it is amazing: "Out of Season" (Beth Gibbons and Rustin Man). Beth Gibbon's voice is even a bit better than in the Portishead albums (if that is possible) and at times it reminds me of Edith Piaf or Billy Holiday. The music is quite classic and timeless with a jazz/soul touch. I can't believe that the discography of this woman consists of just three albums. When is she going to release more wonderful music? |
