Cool Re: The New CD Thread

Last Time by Evanscapps

It features the bass player for Lynyrd Skynyrd and the keyboard player for 38 Special. But it doesn't sound like either of those bands. It sounds more like Shinedown, or possibly Saliva. It is a metal cd with some rapping and the use of sub woofers on it. It's really good

Gary Numan's "new" archive releases, Engineers & Replicas Redux: Mixes and Versions. Four CDs of classic electronic rock. Picked up his remastered Berserker-era live DVD at the same time... you can never have enough Numan!

It's all good

Madonna's latest, Hard Candy, is actually pretty good, for a pop record. Catchy stuff.

Weddings are like that, I have yet to be at a wedding where

a) a fight breaks out

b) everyone gets drunk and a fight breaks out

c) my wife wails buckets ( even if she doesn't even know the folks)

d) people complain about how much the hotel is charging for the drinks

Re: The New CD Thread

Since there are no "the new LP thread"...I go record hunting at least once a month and yesterday I found these:

Caravan - In the land of Grey and Pink
Carmen - Fandangos in Space
The Misfits - Static Age

I had been looking at the Caravan album for a while and never bought it, now I wonder why I didn't get this before! Side 1 is great for discovering how the band sounds and side 2 is just amazing. 22 minutes long "Nine feet underground"...welll just listen to it, it's worth it. "Fandangos in Space" = Flamenco Prog! Extremely catchy album, I'm going to play this one a lot. The Misfits one is an old favorite, I had been looking for it on vinyl for quite a while, I nearly dropped it in the store when I found it. I'll never get tired of this album. All in all a very good hunt!

The Land of Grey & Pink has been a favourite of mine for many years. The track Winter Wine is excellent, as is Nine feet underground. Might I suggest you next go hunting for Greenslade (an album called Greenslade..a bit prog but good all the same) Sandy Denny ( anything) or Nick Drake LP's (anything. Bags of hugs.
