I just bought Mars Volta "Deloused In The Comatorium" based on some reccomendations from people. Some of it is ok maybe it will grow on me, not sure if I like this one.

Re: The New CD Thread

The Mars Volta had to grow on me, but I think its great now.
I bought Avril's new single ("Don't Tell Me") on 7" off of eBay... but that's not quite a CD. I haven't bought any 'new' CDs in a while, just a load of re-buys.

Re: The New CD Thread

When I re-buy something, its usually a CD or record that I had when I was younger, but lost and/or destroyed (Nirvana's catalog, the Beatles Anthology series) or something that I was given on CDR and want to actually have for my collection (Radiohead's 'Kid A', the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' album, Avril Lavigne's 'Let Go' being a couple examples). Or, in rare cases, its something I have on vinyl, but not CD (PF's 'Animals' I didn't buy until just recently, and I've had the LP for a few years now).

Re: The New CD Thread

Well, recently got both "Led Zeppelin II" and Peter Gabriel's "Up." Both very different, but both very very good. Now that I've gotten LZII, I have all of the numbered albums. Had time the other day to listen to all 4 in order, together.

"Up" is pretty good...what I've come to expect from Gabriel, being the very talented musician he is. I can tell already I'm going to be listening to both albums obsessively the next few weeks.

Re: The New CD Thread

my last 3 buys were:
K-Os- "Exit" (canadan hip hop artist)

"The essentials the sugar hill gang"

and David Gilmour- "David Gilmour"

K-Os was great. it was kinda a mix of R&B and hip hop. a lot of great songs i'd give it a 4 out of 5

The sugar hill gang was not great but really good A couple bad songs but mostly good- 3.5 out of 5

David Gilmour was average IMO it had half good half just average or bad songs i was dissapointed in this 2.5 out of 5
