Re: Organs

Shane and Marko will both respond to this thread, but with different answers.

Re: Organs

Beginnings-1968: Farfisa Duo Compact (dual-manual combo organ, used on all of 'Piper').
After this, he began to use the Hammond RT-3 that Abbey Road owned on 'Saucerful of Secrets'. This is the same organ he used for everything until WYWH in the studio (with the exception of Meddle, which wasen't done in Abbey Road).
Soon after SFOS, he got his own Hammond (a M-102 model, quite stripped down from the grandiose RT-3) for touring use (this can be seen in the Pompeii film, along with the Farfisa combo). Perhaps he used this model to record Meddle, or maybe AIR studios had their own Hammond - I don't know.
A Hammond B-3 was used for everything else, I assume - Animals to The Wall, and possibly for the DSOTM and WYWH tours. I haven't seen too many photos from the bigger tours, so I can't say definately what he used. And I think he might have toured AMLOR and TDB with Hammond 'clones' - stuff like the single-manual X-series that have no real tonewheels.
