Yet another poem I wrote some time ago...

Yeah well this poem was something I had to write as an English assignment in school (as I mentioned on the 'Something I wrote.... thread previously), and on the contrary to my previous effort, this poem rhymes, and is nice and simple. Very romantic overview on London, and lots of personification.

LONDON:

Unrivalled in beauty is her river Thames,
glitter in the night, one must try to keep sane,
bewildering glamour, she plays mind games,
what my eyes witness unlocks my chains,

What a privilege to witness the Big Ben,
Or the London Zoo and its mighty Lion Den,
She is worthy of the appraisal, now and then,
being here is like experiencing enlightenment and zen.

All these splendid sights, all these breathtaking streets,
consume my impulse; my heart is lacking beats,
the Tower Bridge fulfils all my deepest needs,
she makes me surrender with all her deeds,

Oxford Street is always packed with people and hassle,
the alleys and walkways breathe of ancient battle,
Buckingham palace is always full of dazzle,
an overwhelming feeling that makes me tremble.

How I love the wonders she beholds,
many a tale of her must have been told,
so pure and genuine, lovely and bold,
city full of life, my soul is sold.

Yeah I know, the first one is more abstract and spontaneous. Of course, the result is apparent since I wrote the first poem through my own initiative, but the second poem was a 'must-do' school work. I agree 100%

things are so much better when you arent forced to do them and you do them on your own free-will.

For a mechanical piece of mechanised machinery, it's pretty good.
