The Gilmour Fender sound

Hello everyone, i don't know if this is the right forum for this thread, but here it goes.

Well i just got myself a USA Fender strat, i have been playing for about 5 years, but this is my first electric.

Well anyway, i was hopeing someone could tell me how to get the Gilmour sound with the guitar.

Ok i know its all about what effects you got, and how you play it, and also the sound will never be perfect, but i would like to get it as close as i can.

I got a small (But ok) Marshall amp, a MG15cd, but me being new to electrics i can't work out the best settings for it to get close to the sound.

So is there any guitar players here that would tell me what to do to get as close as i can without effects.
