Re: I have found a new Pink FLoyd

And there names are Porcupine Tree.

My friend told me to check them out, saying they sound like Pink Floyd. I expected it just to be another Radiohead sound band. I downloaded the song Even Less, a 13 minute song, and by god it is one of the greatest, most refreshing things to hit my ears in a long, long time.

A nice synth string intro with a slide guitar solo, harmonized vocals, great lyrics. Man these guys are great. I urge all of you to check them out immediately.

Yeah Porcupine Tree are great, it's not pink floyd but it's very good, I like Wilson's guitar playing. If you liked Even Less I recommend getting the album, it's called "Stupid Dream", I got two more albums which I really like:

"Up The Downstair" - has psychdelic tendancies.
"Lightbulb Sun" - a bit more on the happy side.

There's also "The Sky Move Sideways" but it drags on and on, just bores me, other's think it's good.

Are you sure they are like Pink Floyd? Stupid Dream is a bit euro-synthy to be a Floyd spinoff.

Re: I have found a new Pink FLoyd

I don't think they're much like Pink Floyd, except in rare instances like parts of Yellow Hedgerow Dreamscape which are almost Floyd rip-offs, but they are great. No doubt my favorite modern band - possibly even scratch the 'modern' qualifier.

Re: I have found a new Pink FLoyd

Their earlier stuff is more Floyd-like than more recent offerings, check out "The Sky Moves Sideways" if that's what you're looking for.
