Re: The Wall the Movie

I wanted to know what everyone thought of it because I've never seen it.

Re: The Wall the Movie

Really, you should see it because its a very intersting movie.
My mum made me watch it because she is studing esquizofrenic people and one of pink floyd was one.
Its like a biographical movie. Once you see it that movie will mark you.
There you'll see what was his life like and why the songs are soo good and well written.
I highly recomend it.
Although you better watch it with an adult for you to understand it better.

Re: The Wall the Movie

In a nutshell:

dad dies
mom lies
kid cries

teacher beats
wife cheats
hooker retreats

records sell
manager yells
rockstar's head swells
... then everything goes to hell

but seriously its a great great movie, with an even greater soundtrack.

Re: The Wall the Movie

It's somewhat interesting. Not the greatest movie ever, but it's alright. The soundtrack is the best part of it, of course. Scarfe's animations are quite good. Probably the most interesting part of the movie are the animated scenes. "Goodbye Cruel World" is a great scene. Watch it and see for yourself is probably the best advice I can give you.

Lol! Albatross, were you inspired by "Eclipse" whilst you wrote that?

Nice,

Re: The Wall the Movie

Although it was said that that movie was made with great tension and a lot of disagreements between Rog, Alan Parker and Gerald Scarfe, I think it's absolutely fantastic !
Remember seeing it at the age of 14 - it was mindblowing impression !
And Bob Geldof is so appropriate there. Alan Parker is great in directing, no doubt too.
Classic and a must have. Highly recommended !
A couple of weeks ago Russan TV showed it with TRANSLATION !!! LOL it was funny to hear the guy translating the songs lyrics into Russian.

Re: The Wall the Movie

I saw The Wall last night after nearly two years of not seeing it, and it got me wondering what everyone's favourite scene might be? Apart for Scarfe's animation, i like the scene of Bob in the pool to the tune of Thin Ice, and then the camera starts sprialing out of control.

Re: The Wall the Movie

My favorite scenes are:

The Thin Ice pool shot where it's fading out the scene is shot in red is beautiful.

The animation during "What Shall We Do Now" is great.

The transformation during "Nobody Home" is nice too

The first time I saw the movie, the part where he shaves brought a tear to my eye. You could really feel the isolation and sadness. Geldoff (for not being a floyd fan) does a great job.
