It looks like you have 80 minutes over 2 disks, as opposed to 160 minutes total. Oh well...

Re: Make your own "The Best of Floyd!"

I didn't go for my own personal list of favourites, I used the rejects from Echoes (http://www.pinkfloyd.co.uk/ae/james.html) plus songs from other OFFICIAL compilations to make something like what the band would release as a follow-up to Echoes. I even went so far as to do crossfades and stuff so it sounds like a Pink Floyd album. Yeah, I have wayyyy too much time on my hands.

RAVING AND DROOLING, OR:
Echoes II: The Rest of Pink Floyd

Disc One
01 Speak to Me/Breathe (ripped from the SACD's DSD stereo mix) 3:56
02 Interstellar Overdrive (crossfades into the mono mix for the sketchy stereo panning at the end) 9:40
03 Young Lust (promo version without the phonecall) 3:26
04 The Nile Song 3:21
05 Embryo 4:35
06 Careful With That Axe, Eugene 5:41
07 Mother (ripped from the MFSL gold disc) 5:26
08 Your Possible Pasts 4:21
09 Crumbling Land 4:10
10 Fearless (MFSL) 5:46
11 Fat Old Sun (MFSL) 5:10
12 The Gunner's Dream 5:02
13 Atom Heart Mother Suite (Edited... no "Mind Your Throats Please" section, just like the live versions) 19:01
Total: 79:44

Disc Two
01 If (MFSL) 4:23
02 Cirrus Minor 4:16
03 Grantchester Meadows 6:43
04 Paranoid Eyes 3:34
05 Scarecrow 2:03
06 Dogs 16:56
07 Biding My Time 5:12
08 San Tropez (MFSL) 3:35
09 Free Four 4:04
10 Nobody Home (MFSL) 3:41
11 Chapter 24 3:35
12 A Saucerful of Secrets (Live at Pompeii) 10:16
13 Brain Damage/Eclipse (DSD Stereo layer) 5:56
Total: 74:21

It sounds cool as all hell with the nifty crossfades. I also used the best-sounding mixes from the Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs gold CDs and cleaned up everything in Cool Edit Pro, so it sounds just as good as Echoes, if not better. I'm also working on artwork.

Re: Make your own "The Best of Floyd!"

I'm too lazy to compose all tracks and changes I would make to the album I just would have made sure at least one song from every album they made would be on there. I feel they definetly left out some key albums (AHM, More) that had some really really surpurb songs on them. I feel that if they would have done one song/every album kinda thing, we would have gotten a better feel of their transitions of the type of music they played and stuff. Not that it isn't evident on Echoes already but oh well.........

I'm just a sad old man all alone and dying of cancer

Re: Make your own "The Best of Floyd!"

If you put my discs and Echoes together, you have a track from every studio album (plus one from Pompeii, one from Zabriskie Point, and Embryo).

Re: Make your own "The Best of Floyd!"

i don't own some of the CD's that are kinda important, but i do own 6 or 7 of them (DSOTM, the wall, WYWH, animals (havent listend to whole thing yet), TFC, Div. Bell, and PULSE), so i will list my favorite songs that i have heard.

DISC I
1)speak to me/breathe
2)time
3)astronomy domine
4)keep talking
5)lost for words
6)us and them
7)pigs (three different ones)
8)one of the few
9)when the tigers broke free
10)sheep
11)high hopes
12)comfortably numb

DISC II
1)the happiest days of our lives
2)another brick in the wall, part II
3)shine on you crazy diamond, parts I to V
4)what do you want from me?
5)take it back
6)empty spaces
7)young lust
8)one of my turns
9)don't leave me now
10)another brickin the wall, part III
11)goodbye cruel world
12)learning to fly
13)coming back to life
14)run like hell
15)not now john
16)the trial
17)wish you were here

i know on the second disc there are a bunch of songs from the wall in a row, but i feel (and i can feel however i want since im the one making this best of album) that they kind of form a string of events and one doesn't make much sence without the others.
