Latin

Does anyone know if the Romans (and indeed, anyone else who spoke Latin) had a fixed phrase for "Money is the root of all evil"?

Translating it word for word (and probably badly) I've come up with:

Argenta causa cunctus mali est

Which just doesn't "feel" right.

Have I got Malum (evil) in the correct case? I assume it should be in the ablative because it is OF all evil.

I take it "cunctus" (huh huh, you said cunctus) doesn't change case because it's not a noun.

Anyone?

Latin translation

Try this: radix omnium malorum est cupiditas or the love of money is the root of all evil.

Re: Latin

Did you nick that from somewhere or do you knw anything about Latin?

If so, is there anything grammatically wrong with my rudimentary effort?
