I'd really like to see Can's albums respectfully ushered into the digital age. The current copies sound pretty bad!

What about future remasters to come?? Imagine, in 2017, it will be the 50th anniversary of 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn'--50 years!! Wow, I know I'll still be listening to it. But its kind of weird thinking about it because will CD's/DVD's even be the main way to listen to music--or will they suffer the same fate as the casette?? It will be interesting to find out.

Billy Boy Gates predicts that all physical delivery of digital media (compact discs, DVDs, the lot) will be obsolete in ten years.

Hm. My professional opinion is that Bill is wrong - it will take longer than that to build the kind of infrastructure he's thinking about. Look how long it took to get DSL rolled out, and it runs over the same wires that we use for telephones.

But you can definitely expect the media to get a hell of a lot smaller.

No, but small enough to hold everything you'd ever want to have in one place.
