Re: Bike

And by the way, how do I get a picture thing? I would sure like one of those. And also by the way, I think that the cloak Syd is talking about is referring to a modern day coat. Coats have tears up the front in a wierd tailored way. Seems that so much of his stuff refers back to earlier eras in history and cloaks were worn in earlier times, so the tear up the front would be a joke in earlier times, eh.

Re: Bike

Beanie,

What happened to your post about Shine On and Sheep. I had replied to it, and suddenly it's not there anymore. Instead, it says "1". What's up?

Re: Bike

Collection of Great Dance songs may just be the worst Floyd album of all time. Too much editing involved in it for my tastes.

I'm actually suprised to hear that you bought Piper first. Most people would have started out with DSOTM or The Wall(crap), but I like your decision very much. Hell, if I was you I'd buy them in order. Why not?

Oh, thank you. After reading the biography on Pink Floyd, I was intrigued by what was said about that album. Also, I was just really curious. Plus, I did want to see how they started out sounding. I had thought about DSOTM. But again, my curiosity won out. I didn't know that A Collection of Dance Songs was really bad. I guess I haven't heard enough of Pink Floyd to recognize the edits, but I'll take your word for it.

I think Piper at the Gates of Dawn is a really good album. Syd Barrett was obviously incredibly talented and creative.

Piper at the Gates of Dawn

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is incredibly poetic and symbolic. You have to be a little bit of a poet yourself to understand it I think.

Feel free to describe some of the poetic devices or any symbols that you find in that song.

Re: Bike

I'm sure it was brilliant(maybe) in the time it was released, but now it's fluff.
