Radiohead Lyrics (Mainly Karma Police)

Okay, I know there are a lot of Radiohead fans here, so I was wondering what your interpretion is of the song "Karma Police" from the album "OK Computer". I've read the lyrics and I just don't get it. I have an idea...but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks before I let it out.

I think a lot of Thom's lyrics are literal. I used to have an interpretation for Karma Police, but I'm drawing a blank right now.

I think it's about people doing crazy things that they will look back on and regret. Am I near correct?

Re: Radiohead Lyrics (Mainly Karma Police)

maybe its the viewpoint of a sadistic serial killer who has problems with different types of people. like maybe instead of the people hes talking about with problems and the women with the ugly dress he really means a certain group. then again, maybe not.

Re: Radiohead Lyrics (Mainly Karma Police)

Well, I think it just has to do with the whole "technology domination" theme of the album. "Karma Police" is literally what Thom means...in the future, computers will dominate day to day life, keeping everyone in line (making sure their karma is intact). Instead of arresting/punishing people for crimes they outright do, they are arrested based on their karma...

I dunno...just an idea.
