Angry Is hitting a stupid roomate with intent to cause grievious injury unlawful?

Is hitting a stupid roomate with intent to cause grievious injury unlawful? My room mates were supposed to be moving out today. I come home after they've gone (and they'll be coming back to get some more of their stuff)... and find the back door ajar and the door leading to the basement open.

This isn't the first time he's guilty of doing something this idiotic. I've repeatedly told him to close doors and turn of lights and appliances when he doesn't need them. He's a bit well off - or rather, his Dad doesn't mind coddling his son with whatever he asks for. I can't afford things like that and I barely scrape through everymonth because I HATE asking Father for money.

So anyway, I go down to the basement and run a quick scan. Sure enough, my bag gloves, hand wraps and a few items are missing. Thankfully nothing major.

I'm livid. I call him instant on the phone and can't help myself. Language is quite strong. He starts yelling back. I told him that this needs to be remedied - NOW. I await his arrival... and while I type this, my anger is growing and growing and growing. I'm afraid that if this idiot makes another stupid comment or wiseass remark, I'm gonna lose it and see to it that he parts with a few teeth.

I'm just concerned, that because of this... I might get into trouble. I really don't want to even waste my spit on this stupid ****head but really, this time, his irresponsibility has gone too far.

Basically, I think I just need to vent or something.

Sure go ahead and hit him. I would. Sound like a real doozy Simon. Good luck with that!

Hitting should not only be allowed, but enforced! After all, violence solves everything.

I have no advice for you Simon, but I wish you luck.

VERY unlawful, and you might find yourself imprisoned for your pleasure.

That is the best thing to do, talk it out, I myself would have given him a swift kick in the jewels. Kick first, ask questions later.

either talk or just give him a nice punch in the face. its not really illegal, i punched my friend in the face when i was bored. at least you have a good reason. or just go to his house and steal his stuff...but taht one would be illegal

A kick in the jewels would get his attention better.

yes but i've learnt that its just plain wrong. plus punching is more fun

EDIT: how bout we comprimise...
kick the in the nuts, knee him in the face when he leans over, lift his head up by his hair and punch him in the face. then leave him lying on the floor in pain and take your stuff back.

and steal his wallet if you want
