Sorry I'm so late to post, but I got a very nice 1st U.S. pressing of AHM about 3 weeks ago. The early Floyd albums seem to be real tough to find anymore, at least at reasonable prices. I had heard this a few times when I was younger, but didn't appreciate it as much then, preferred Animals & DSOTM. AHM Suite is my favorite, and I consider it to be one song, with segmentation. I listen to vinyl on a SE 6V6 tubed amp, with similar vintage quality speakers, & think that makes a HUGE difference in what you hear.

Sorry, I can't rate this one in the top half of the 14 albums they did.
IF and SUMMER '68 are above average for me but the title track and BREAKFAST take up 70% of the album and I don't like either one.

The title track is worth it just for David's blues guitar!

I love what he can do with a guitar but maybe too bluesy for me in this case.

The band totally dismiss it as rubbish. But that' only their opinion! What do PF know, huh?
I was a teenager when I absorbed their entire catalog up to The Final Cut and being one of the odd ones out of my friends that was always looking for something "different" to hear, this one hit the spot very nicely. Maybe no mainstream potential (it went to #1 in UK) but I loved it and it's one of those records that I can play in my head all the way through, which gives you an idea of how much I played it.
I also have the vinyl album cover hanging on my wall in a frame. Lovely!
