most of the people i assosiate myself with limit there experience with the Floyd to darkside of the moon, or on occasion the wall, but thats it. i guess i cant complain, caue they dig it and all, but they should widen their floyd spectrum past that. just my humble opinion.

None of my friends like Pink Floyd. (Except for my boyfriend) but anyways, I'll wear my PF shirt to school (it's the Wall!) and everyone's either like, who in the hell in pink floyd? or, hey, my parents like that band!

It seems like EVERYONE is into rap, hip-hop, and pop at my school...

Ok...just a little while ago I made a post explaining what I meant...for some reason I don't see it there. But basically what I said is that you don't have to actually listen to or like those bands, you just have to know the history...learn why and how music is the way it is now, before you can really decide if what you're into is all that great (as many people tend to do).

anyone can decide if music is good, it doesnt mean that decision is true. no one really decides what is good and what isnt other than the media but even past that there are tons of people who listen to what they want. it doesnt matter what everyone else thinks if you like listening to it. if you like something you dont have to compare it to Zeppelin or Floyd or something and then decide whether its good. theres tons of stuff that doesnt even come close to measuring up to PF and stuff but i still like it.

My friend has a Wall t-shirt that says "Pink Floyd" and on the back "The Wall" and has drawings from the movie, I'm sure you all have seen it. And when people ask about we always confuse them and say "The Wall" is a wall in New York and Pink Floyd is an artist and he drew those drawings on it, and they believe us, it's rather funny.

Um...did you guys even read what I wrote? I didn't say they had to compare the two artists...I'm just saying, basically, respect your "elders." It's like if you wanted to go and watch a new movie that was a spoof on whatever...it'd be beneficial if you went and watched some of the original spoof classics, like Airplane and such. I'm not saying you have to, it's just that I think through doing things like that, you come to appreciate the music you listen to (or whatever) more, or even realize it's a crock of crap.
