Songs like 'Comfortably Numb', 'ABITW' many songs from Division Bell are mainly very well accepted and loved by many friends of mine... but give em a bit o Animals, echoes etc etc... and they ask me questions like "Hey why the heck is he not singin..." which disturbs me quite a bit because at that moment i'm into a really good long BDG's solos... go figure...

Many people don't really understand that music can be even like this (I mean 24 min songs and stuff). But the few who go beyond Division Bell... just crash and burn in the depths of Pink Floyd. That may be the reason for such a strong fan following for Pink Floyd... it just doesn't let you go does it?

My pal and I were chatting about music the other day over coffee and cigarettes... after a really long 2 hour discussion about differnet bands and their works... she casually glances at me, gives a wry smile and says "Somehow even after worshipping several bands I feel like i've had a big round about... I seem to have come back to the same ol lovely place called Pink Floyd"... That sure brightened my day.

I have a black and white pic of the big 4 titled 'Pink Floyd' as a wallpaper on my comp... so when all these cousins and friends come home they look at the pic and go "Hey which one of them is Pink Floyd"...

i was reading this rolling stones article on dave grohl and my poor sheltered naive friend looked over my shoulder and said, "oh hes pink floyd right?". sacreligious (sp) on so many levels. i would like to shoot the dude whoever said ignorance is bliss. maybe more like..the ignorance of others is entertainment. i have to admit - it was quite amusing.

well all my friends like pink floyd but not like I do by a long shot there is one other person I know who likes floyd as much as I do he turned me on to this site you might know him as "memphis floyd" . Now my wife is a different story a lot of the popular stuff she likes and she loves pulse I even played meddle for her and she couldn't tell it was floyd but she told me she really dug it, so she is definitely coming around

i listen to mainly zeppelin and floyd. and even some rush and boston. But def. floyd is my favorite. All my friends really only know a few of floyd, like the wall part 2. They listen to shit like rap and country. I am trying to get them more into it, but it works with 1 of them. A few of my lady friends, well 2 listen to it. The others listen to country, which i despise more than rap.
Remember kids, country+rap=crap

My friend has just bought an iPod and asked a few friends to nominate songs they'd like him to put on it.

Obviously, some smart alec suggested Echoes but since he didn't own a copy it fell to me to lend out the appropriate Floyd CD's.

I gave him DSOTM, Meddle and Pulse to be getting on with and he sent me an email yesterday saying he'd listened to DSOTM al the way through (I instructed him on the correct method of listening!) and he said "It was OK".

Well, it's better than the guy on Amazon who's written a list of the world's worst albums and put DSOTM in every position!

He said he'd break open Meddle and Pulse tonight.

I'm not holding my breath - his favourite band is the Pet Shop Boys.
