They like the radio songs of course, but haven't heard anything else. They'd probably think they were really weird and crappy if they did.

Most people who listen to rap and things don't have the patience or the ear to get into Floyd.

only 3 of my friends like Floyd, and i got them all into it. but one of them just sort of likes them. i dont really care though, im friends with a lot of people who just like the new stuff and britney spears. but my two best friends like it, so thats good. we all really like one band and then have our own favourite; oasis, our lady peace and Pink floyd.

Yeah...most of my friends listen to shite (rap, factory rock). I have a couple buddies who dig the Floyd, but that's it. I don't bother trying to talk about music with my friends, but when one tries to tell me about how great 50 Cent is, I can't resist ripping into them. It's just...you can't even evaluate how good a band is if you don't even know who The Who, Floyd, Jethro Tull, Led Zep, etc. are.

Rap and hip-hop are all means of expression, even if they might uphold the 'wrong' values. Let 'em be.

Don't make fun of the neighbors just because there's a fence.

If by "bollocks" you mean "dead on," then yes, you're right.
