I've been going through guitar magazines this current week and have notice floydisms.

Guitar world is has a huge section that goes through the production notes of every PF album. The magazine was trying to promote Echoes: the best of pink floyd.

Guitar player, I think, is having 100 best guitar solos. Gilmour got 3: comf numb, time, and money. Comf numb was #8 i think!
Time was in the 30s and Money was #75-100?

It was poorly ranked. Examples:

#1 stairway (page)

#2 eruption (edwardo) (#1 and #2 should have been switched around IMO.)

#3 free bird (skynard)

#6 november rain (cough*bullshit*cough)

#7 one (hammet)

I hope that gives you a taste of how guitar magazines favor what's popular instead of quality stuff!

No, you are not weird. It all comes down to where you live, really. Like if you live in a black neighborhood, I suggest you keep your music preference to yourself if you want to keep your ass from being sore in the mornings.
Not everyone has opened their eyes and realized that 10 years from now, 'NSYNC's "Gone" or whatever they puked up nowadays is not going to be remembered.
If we remember Pink Floyd and other great bands 20 or 10 or 30 years from then, that must mean something. But if no one knows who the hell "Ace of Base" are or their crap-worthy songs are, then that must tell you something, too.
And what does it tell you? That good rock will long be remembered, nowadays "pop stars" are going to be forgotten as soon as they start to show wrinkles in thier faces. Look at Jimi Hendrix. Dead, yet loved. Look at 98 degrees. Alive, yet no one knows where the hell they are.
All in all, rock will always rule over anything. Well, at least the GOOD kind will. Just give these deadheads time to get that in their unreasonable heads.

While the Floyd continue to have an album in the top 20 30 plus years after they started, she is "disposed"

All I can say about listening to PF being weird is that 5 years ago when I was in high school the same people that said to me, "You listen to Pink Floyd? Man, you're a fag!" are the same ones that claim to be such fucking PF diehards now. Fucking phonies. So give it time my friend.

APerfectLusk...EXACTLY the same story here dude. When I was at school if you didn't like Pearl Jam and Nirvana you were an out of touch loser. Now a lot of my old friends like Pink Floyd.
As to the question of being Weird...I'd say the only weirdos are the ones claiming that mass produced crap like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez (and every other dumb wench capable of singing a few cliches and busting a couple of group dance moves) is music. Pink Floyd and them is like Fine Cuisine and McDonalds.
