You're all wrong, it's "Happy birthday."

Yesterday is the most played on the radio (only counting the beatles version.), not the most covered.

Re: Most covered song?

Pipeline by The Chantays The Original is best but I like Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughan's version. I also like The Lively ones version too.

Not anymore...... . I'm kidding....

I am thinking "Train Kept Rolling" or "Red House"
"Comfortably Numb" is incredibly popular with a lot of current bands. I have about 10 copies of that on Mp 3

Re: Most covered song?

^ "Hush" was recorded by brit band Kula Shaker some years back;

Deep Purple also released a new souped up version of the song in the 80's featuring Ian Gillan on vocals, + there's the ancient original version by Joe South

Exclamation Re: Most covered song?

The biography of Joni Mitchell says that "Both Sides Now", which she wrote in '67, was a hit by Judy Collins in '68 AND covered by something like 29 other bands and musicians before 1969. That's pretty covered.

This was during the years known, of course, as the Years Of the Folk Music Scare.

I could believe that. From Quicksilver Messenger Service to the most recent George Thorogood and the DD's, I am sure that I have more of that than anything else except Little Wing.
