Yep I think it's agreed here that everyone get burnt out.

It goes in cycles for me. I find that I listen to Floyd more in the winter months. During the summer I listen to The Dead and Phish, because it's more happy.

Just goes in cycles.

Re: Tired of Floyd?

When I first became a fan in '88 I bought every Floyd album I could get my hands on, and listened to them practically non-stop for about four years.
Back then, I would have killed for a forum like this. I was starved for information, and could find practically nothing.

Nowadays, I listen to 'em only occasionally, (mostly Roio's) but will always consider them my favorites. If I'm punching buttons on the car radio and come across a Floyd song, I always finish listening to it, even if it's just Money or Another Brick.

A few days ago, I was in the grocery store and Speak To Me/Breathe In The Air started playing on the PA system. I stopped under a speaker and listened to the whole thing before continuing shopping.

As Roger would say, "Pathetic!"

Re: Tired of Floyd?

I am so sick of classic rock right now. I listened to it so much, and there's nowhere it can go. Classic rock is almost better as an appreciation, rather than a favorite genre. I still love Zeppelin, The Who, Floyd, etc. but damn, it's just gotten so boring.

So listen to something else!
I've just re-discovered that I love judas Priest and am currently on a listening frenzy, I'll probably hate them this time next week.

Re: Tired of Floyd?

Hmmm, see I rarely suffer from that

I listen to music in many different languages - English, Punjabi, Hindi, Tamil and German.

The styles are as varied as the languages. I rarely ever get bored. If I find that I'm getting tired of classic rock, I usually put on pearl Jam, nirvana, Dream Theater or some such. Or I switch over comepletely to JayZ, Eminem or some Bhangra. If not, there's always Hindi, German and Tamil tracks.

Re: Tired of Floyd?

You can't listen to rap if you're a Floyd fan Simon, it's against the law.
