Best Bob Dylan album.

What do you think is his best album? I think it's Blonde on Blonde or maybe Highway 61 Revisited.

For a long time, the only Dylan albums I owned were "Self Portrait" and "Shot of Love." And we all know he made Self-portrait to discourage the more obsessive fanatics, and that's why i loved it, because it was made to be a catastrophe on purpose. And "Shot of Love" was a born-again album, and it still had good songs like 'Lenny Bruce' and 'Every grain of Sand.'
But, my favorite Dylan album is a close call between "Infidels" or the live "Before the flood" with The Band, because it electrifies a lot of his acoustic stuff and because it shows just how great Dylan and the Band worked together. "Basement Tapes" too.

Well.. I though I had seen an identical thread before.. but after a search I couldn't seem to find it.. so I'll leave this one open.. BUT, there is plenty of other Dylan discussion going on so take advantage of previously started threads..

That being said... Desire is my fave Dylan album.

I like Freewheeling Bob Dylan alot, very natural and the writing is excellent. Girl from the North Country is one of my fav tunes from him and actually one of my favorite tunes of all time

Blonde On Blonde, Highway 61 revisited, Blood On The Tracks.

Apparently 'Love And Theft' is nothing to sneeze at either.

People get pissed off when their expectations of what someone is supposedly all about prove to be false, especially when that person is their annointed "spokesman." I'm talking about the purist folk music worshippers in the early 60's who thought electric guitars were evil and frowned upon white people who played the blues.

Thankfully there aren't many of them around anymore.
