June 2004 Issue ; UNCUT magazine.

I just picked up the June 2004 issue of Uncut magazie (UK Music rag). The cover article is an interview with Roger regarding the last days with Floyd leading to his "retirement". Very good article, great interview, Roger is fairly candid (moreso than ususal) but still manages to paint himself as the martyr.

Good read, very informative, pick it up if you get the chance.

Maybe because he is a martyr. I thought he seemed a lot less angry than he has done in the past, more reflective maybe.

I think I read that article. The one that also covers the new TFC remaster with "When the Tigers broke free?" It's one of the most one-sided, biased interviews i've ever read. Even the interviewer is obviously pro-Roger with his/her "How does it feel to always be portrayed as the bad guy?" etc, and also talks about the AMLoR and TDB albums in a negative way (i.e. wasn't-the-same but in a bad way).
Roger even says something about how people's minds create their own history of things, that suits them best, implying that's the explanation for Rick's,Nick's, and Dave's part of the story.
Well, how do we know it's not Roger's mind that's creating his own history?
He even tries to take a bit of credit for helping sort out the history in Nick's upcoming book.

But that's all part of the typical ex-bandmember feud fodder. I'm sure that somewhere there's an interview with Dave that's the same way.

There are many, many, many, many interviews with Dave that are exactly the same way.

What, that Dave and Roger don't like each other and repeatedly tell us so? That hardly needs further proof...

(*Sigh*)
No, you answered my post, so you must have actually READ it. My point was that Dave is just the same way, so when I said there must be "an" interview with Gilmour acting just has one-sided, you confirmed there are "many many" of them, it further proved the point I made that Dave can be the same way. This Uncut Roger article is just a bunch of bile from his end of the feud, disguised under "let's talk about the new Final Cut."
Who said I was trying to prove that Dave and Roger don't like each other? Everyone knows that.

Sorry, I guess. Not trying to misrepresent you. But my expectations of interviews with band members have been so soured by this kind of thing that I'm quite cynical about it.
