I used to have a dog that all you had to do to get her to howl was to ask nicely.

I'm not kidding. That dog practically spoke the English language.

Anonymous: Yes, yes it does.

FW: So, where did this dog live when it was most prone to howling?

i know the topic has changed what with talking about the dog now but i just wanted to throw in my opinion about san tropez. i think it is a very good song. very different for pink floyd and rick wright's little piano solo at the end is great. seamus though i'm not too sure about. ok thats it. back to the dog.

Are you saying I am tripping? I'll have you know that I have never tripped, been high, or drunk in my life, unless you count PF as a hallucinogen!

As for the dog, it didn't matter where we lived...and she really didn't do a lot of howling unless you asked. This was just one very smart animal. The cat that I have now...is almost as smart, believe it or not! If I told you even half of the stuff she's done, you'd think I was tripping for sure!

Wha-at? I admit, I don't know enough to know if you are being sarcastic or not; I haven't seen Live at Pompeii.

Being high--I don't take well even to strong painkillers...I am very slight of frame, and I suppose things get to me quickly. I really don't want to know what would happen to me. What would be considered a "normal" dose would probably do something horrid to me!

Being drunk--The mother of my best friend when I was young was killed by a drunk driver. And I don't like the smell of alcohol...

The closest I get is being under the influence of PF!

These are all just personal choices--I am NOT trying to preach at anybody.

If you guys wanna talk about all this BS - do it at the 'Babbling' Section.

I don't wanna have to start locking topics.

CIA,

"Locking the topic"? Now I AM intrigued.

So, have we flogged this topic to death and unanimously decided that Animals and The Division Bell are indeed not like "brothers" or is there yet more flogging to do?

If not, consider this: Animals IS a bona fide PF album, The Division Bell is not. Rather it's more of a PF tribute album.

What ho! I spy many cats amongst many pigeons.

Flighty-Floyd,
Byron

I consider Meddle and Division Bell ''brother albums'' and I'll explain why:

1. They both start off with an instrumental(Cluster One and One Of These Days- have you noticed how each has a one in the title? Wierd!)
2. They both end with a long track(Echoes and High Hopes- notice these are also referring to the past or evolution but in different ways.)
3. The ping in Echoes is in a way mirrored by the bell that is heard in High Hopes and the keyboard work is even similar in places!

These are things I noticed but there may be more.

There aren't. And those things you noticed? They're not there either.

Cheers,

Mark
