Re: worst floyd song

Dogs of War is one of my favorite "newer" Floyd songs. I'm an enormous fan of all walks of the Floyd. However, I don't like the pre-Gilmour stuff near as much as I like everything from Saucerful and onward.

I used to think Money was their worst song, because I'd been hearing it all my life on pop radio stations. But lately I've really come to love it. But I guess if I had to pick one song I hated (or perhaps just least likeable), I'd have to go with Waiting for the Worms. I absolutely LOVE everything about The Wall, except that song.

Re: worst floyd song

I'm sure this isn't the first thread on the subject and probably it's not going to be the last one. My answer isn't changed though (I think): When The Tigers Broke Free.

Re: worst floyd song

Dogs of war and most of The Final Cut.
I've always wondered what would happen if Roger didn't leave PF and that they made an album combined of two of PF's worst albums: TFC and AMLOR (IMO), would it be a masterpiece or a disaster ?

Re: worst floyd song

The poor bits of The Wall (eg Vera) and pretty much all of The Final Cut except probibly The Flectcher Memorial Home and AMLOR also is pretty weak in parts.

Re: worst floyd song

I never enjoyed the whole "Vera" part of the Wall. The rest is pretty good (not as good as adjacent earlier works). I also don't enjoy AMLOR at all. TFC is OK when you're in the right mood.

Re: worst floyd song

For me, it is probably "The Trial" off of The Wall.

Lyrically, I know it's supposed to be important because the character breaks down the wall, but it just doesn't fly for me. The Wall is a great album and it all leads up to this song as it's finale? Lyrically, it's fine, but musically they really should have done more with it to make it more dramatic and a more intense ending to the album.

Re: worst floyd song

As I can't say which is really the worst one (I don't listen enough to what I don't like) I go with a song from either AMLoR or Ummagumma. Random.
What ever comes out, it will (IMO) be one of the worst songs of PK.

Re: worst floyd song

I'd probably have to go with Bring the boys back home, that song is just totally unlistenable to me. I think the post-Waters Money with the female singers is pretty horrible too.

Re: worst floyd song

Bring the Boys Back Home was pretty... dull, yeah. it was in a weird spot in the Wall in my opinion, too...... But I do have to say that I enjoyed the single version off the WtTBF 45 a lot more than the album version.... no Waters as far as I could tell... just an orchestra and a choir.

Uhm, WORST song, in my opinion...... oh dear, that's hard. Shine On You Crazy--- ok, just kidding.

Ok, got it.... "A Spanish Piece" off More.

Several species, Sysyphus, GV's Garden Party. Horrible shiite.

Chapter 24 is crap too.

Re: worst floyd song

I really don't like anything post-Rog, which is odd, because Dave is my favorite PF member. :/

Also, I don't like bring the boys back home, and when the tigers broke free. It's just annoying. But I love the rest of the Wall.
