OK... Here we go... I take The Wall as an entirity. Bring the Boys Back Home and Vera are in my eyes not "songs", they are pieces of a whole unit which may not work in isolation but certainly don't sound that bad. But in total The Wall is a bit too stretched thin to really work. TFC is actually a very good album I feel. I like it (and listen to it) more than The Wall, especially Two Suns in the Sunset and Fletcher Memorial Home, which I find preferable even to Comfortably Numb. And just for the record, I like all Waters' solo stuff too, though the dowbeat parts of Pros and Cons and Amused to Death do really drag. AMLOR isn't that awful an album. I actually like the instrumentals, Yet Another Movie, One Slip and Sorrow. The rest I can live with. It is a big step down from 70s Floyd, obviously, but I think it's not unlistenable. Except that is, for The Dogs of War. The Division Bell is also a good album, especially the instrumentals. There are a few low points here too, but even the low points I don't think are that low. Take It Back makes me feel dirty but I like it. Lost for Words is a bit empty and boring, but it has got the line "please go f**k myself" in it. Keep Talking is the one place I really drop off. *** Now that's that sorted... Down to the worst floyd song ![]() Quicksilver, which I have mentioned on this forum before, is literally unlistenable. It's worse than the Garden Party by an infinite amount. And most of More is in fact a load of instrumental tripe by a band who at that stage were too concerned with making non-music to be allowed the chance to score a film. It seriously grates my brain and stirs it into a mash. The Dogs of War is bad, Keep Talking is also bad (but neither is as bad as the above). Rick and Nick's sides on Ummagumma are lame. Seamus is a pointless waste of space. And lastly, and possibly leastly, the studio version of the title track from Saucerful of Secrets is quite limp, and I only listen to live versions, which conversely are wonderful (especially pompeii). *** I have spoken.

Re: worst floyd song Mademoiselle Nobs-I don't like this song. I am an animal lover but I think animals should never make music. It just sucks. But, over all, I don't think there are that many Floyd songs that I hate at all. I would have to say for these days, it is pretty rare that I like every single song a band releases.

Re: worst floyd song Floyd really didn't release any bad songs. Some are better than others, and some I skip from time to time. But nothing cringeworthy at least. Nevertheless I have a tendency to skip Quicksilver. Minimalist ambient nonsense that song. Sometimes I like minimalism and ambient music, but not usually when I want to listen to Floyd. And Quicksilver just sounds thrown together. It Would Be So Nice is an okay song, but it's simply too happy to be a Floyd song. It sounds like something the Beach Boys should have done. Definitely not one of Rick's best. More Blues, A Spanish Piece are two of the weaker songs on More. I realize it's a soundtrack, but as an album, these songs do seem like more needless padding. Sysyphus starts out really good. It really sounds like it's going to be great. But then it becomes atonal nonsense. I get the sense Rick was really trying to be a 20th Century Impressionist composer, but couldn't quite do it. It's too bad, this song had potential. Grand Vizier's Garden Party. I like the flute stuff, but I could have done without the 10 minute drum solo. Simply boring. Pigs (Three Different Ones) is a bit too long and boring for me. On its own it's actually not too bad, but when listened to in the context of Animals, this song just seems to drag. Sheep and Dogs are much better. Young Lust is not too great. The album needed a rocker, but this one was just too straight forward for Floyd. And it sounded too 80s cheesy. In the context of the album it is a lot better, however. One of My Turns - Goodbye Cruel World is great the first time you hear it, but almost unlistenable after that first time. The Final Cut actually has really good songs on it, and it's hard to pick out individual songs I don't like, but it's hard to listen to the whole album. It's simply too depressing, and there are too few songs that change the mood. And I think, the problem is, the one song that does, Not Now John, actually isn't that great a song (a bit too much like Young Lust). When you mix this album with AMLoR, it actually sounds much better. Dogs of War is pretty weak too, but sometimes I can get into it. I felt like they held back too much. This song really needed to rock, but it simply felt too soft. If they made it more like their heavy stuff on More it wold have sounded more appropriate.
