Rex, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Dio, Megadeth, King Diamond, Van Halen, Faith No More, Guns N Roses, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, NIN, Iced Earth, Tool, Incubus, etc....

I am totally addicted to Jethro Tull, and I would strongly recommend that anyone who has not heard them buys one of their albums (I would recommend Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, or the Broadsword and the Beast)
They are a strange medley of Prog Rock and british folk, with loads of other influences depending on the album (older stuff is more Blues-like, 80's stuff is kinda cheesy synth-rock etc.)
I also like Pink Floyd (obviously), the Doors, the Chilis, Pixies, PiL, Beatles, and Miles Davis.

I must agree with you on Jethro Tull, though their 80s stuff is a bit, like PF, out of character.

Their lyrics are very similar to PF in that, apart from the beauty of its poetry, very few words are used to speak volumes.

For example:

He sees his children jumping off,
At stations one by one,
His woman and his best friend,
In bed and having fun,
Well he's crawling down the corridor,
On his hands and kness,
Oh Charlie's stole the handle,
And the train it won't stop going,
