Question piper at the gates of dawn......

Hello All i'm wondering if anyone of you PF fans might be able to answer a question for me, i won't claim to be any huge fan of Pink Floyd but i am a music lover and i enjoy what i hear of their music, my Question relates to a Barge (named "piper at the gates of dawn") built in 1976 which may or may not have some connection (maybe tenuous) to the band, i am currently refitting this barge as a home and would be interested to know if there is any truth in a rumour that they may once have used it as some form of recording studio, it is a 70ft (21 metres) X 12'6" (3.5 metres) barge that was also a 60 seat restaurant based in kings cross, before being removed from the water in the mid 90's.
a friend of mine remembers seeing some tv/(film) footage possibly from the 80's involving Dave Gilmore in front of a mixing desk on a boat, any info would be appreciated, thank you, Slim

The boat is The Astoria, his houseboat, where most of The Division Bell was recorded. The barge that you are refitting is most likely named after a chapter in 'Wind In The Willows.'

Good question, though!
