Atom Heart Mother Sounds

I was wondering, but does anyone have any information on the noised on atom heart mother like 13 minutes into the album. It sounds like a pigmy tribe chanting rak-ah-teek-ah-ga-hund.
I was just wondering if anyone know absolutely anything about those sounds, or if they are just random.

That is of course the John Aldiss choir singing one of Ron Geesin's funky vocal arrangements for the Atom Heart Mother Suite. I don't know if any of them were on crack, but I suspect Ron might've been.

Apparently Geesin was into all kinds of hard drug at that stage.

This is a very strange part in the song, isn't it?? When I first head these strange voices, I really didn't like them and it seemed to ruin the entire song for me. But now, after repeated listens, I have learned to cope with the chanting voices.

I do think the song would have been much better without any voices at all. And what is up w/ the strange tribal chanting at the end of Obscured by Clouds?? Well, I think I agree, there must have been a lot of drugs going around.

There's nothing else that sounds remotely like Atom Heart Mother, and I especially like how the voices lead into the next section so smoothly.

That is the Mapuga tribe of New Guinea, who are featured in the film "The Valley." Of which Obscured By Clouds is the soundtrack. Capice?

I'll admit that their early albums are a little far-out, but the Floyd never made music while stoned or on any other drug.

You might make a case for Jugband Blues, but not any other officially released Pink Floyd track really.

This may be on another thread, but while we are on the subject of Mr. Syd, are there ANY releases that aren't bootlegs that may have Vegetable Man on it?? Probably not, huh. I heard about this song, and how the other guys thought it was way too dark for a Floyd album. Man, too dark for Floyd----->I gotta hear this song.

It is not available on any official release. There are two different mono mixes, a stereo mix, and a live version from the Floyd's last BBC session with Syd.

Then there has got to be a way to purchase this right? Maybe from the BBC itself.

Ebay's your best bet, but you can get it for free if you find someone who's got the Have You got It Yet? set and trade CDs with them.
