It's like...really fun when you are playing in a band w/ other people...and like really boring when you are practicing by yourself.

And android...there is one big big problem with starting on electric first. Admittedly, electric is more fun for most people because it's easier and you can make "cool sounds." But every kid in this day and age just gets a few pedals which mask his sloppy playing and he never gets any good. In alot of todays bands the guitarists aren't nearly as good as the guitarists from the 70's because they grew up playing w/ pedals and stuff and never have to learn their instrument. Todays music is all about the mixing and the effects. Get an acoustic first if you want to get good..the "fun" will kick in a little bit later when you..and get an electric first if you just want to have fun right way but don't care about ever getting really good.

P.S. There are always exceptions to the rule....but I think most people who play can agree with me on this.

I know what you mean. There's a Gibson ad, it has a picture of an acoustic on a stage, and it says "no distortion to cover your ass". But I started out playing Greenday songs. After a while I got sick of that, and started listening to SRV. I learned every song, note for note, on In Step, and Texas Flood. And a lot of those were clean. The song that really, really, tested my cleanness, was Riviera Paradise. That and the opening riff of Wall of Denial.
