| What is easier to play acoustic or electric? what do you think is easier to play? i think it is the electric guitar because it's a more flowing sound.

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? Deffinitly electric, you can tweak the sound in a million more ways, and the strings are a lot lower, closer to the fretboard, you don't have to press down as hard to play a note, thus you can move around easier and faster, and make up crazy solos. |

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? I think electric. Smaller body. lighter strings, usually a slimmer neck.

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? Electric. Although there is a certain respectability in being awesome on acoustic, 'cause it is a bit harder. |

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? Electric, but it's not always good to play easiest first.... for example, I give lessons to kids, and I always tell them to start on the dingiest acoustic they can find with tight-ass strings cuz once they get good at that, and then pick up an acoustic, they'll be able to shred like no other.

That wasn't the question. The question was which is easier. I agree, once you can play, you can play anything, and it's all just about the same, but if you were to get someone with no experience, they would probably find one physically easier than the other.

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? Also, as soon as it becomes all easy, you're probably not chalenging yourself enough.

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? Electric is definately easier...but that if you are learning how to play and are trying to decide what to buy as a 1st guitar I would go with an acoustic. It's better to learn the basics on an acoustic then move over to electric later if you wish. That's just my 3 cents. But I'm a bass player...what do I know?

| Re: What is easier to play acoustic or electric? Anybody who tells anybody to learn on acoustic first doesn't know what it's like to be a kid. When I said to my folks, "I wanna play rock music!", and they said "well you need to learn on acoustic first!" i was like, screw that! I wanna thrash! So I borrowed me up an Ibanez from me bro-in-law, and started thrashing. I didn't buy an acoustic until my 2nd year of playing, and I turned out just fine. But electric is easier. |
