... Why do people always have to bring up the picture on the blotter? As long as it's LSD-25 the picture doesn't matter, unless it's laced with LSA or some other lysergic compound.

But yes, Paul did infact draw the picture of "Lucy in the Sky" himself.

Anyway, why would John deny it all those years? It's not like he was shy about admitting to his drug use. Maybe this just WAS a coincidence. And Paul can say anything he likes now.

His story came out in the 70s, when the Beatles were still very much alive. He had to stick with it so he wouldn't appear as a liar to his fans.

Hey man, I have no idea as to what kind of LSD is out there on "the market", window-pane is all I've really heard of. I do not know anything about it, nor will I ever take it. I'm sorry I don't what the hell LSD-25 is, and I really don't care to find out.

It's not important, it's just if listeners understood the LSD culture it would go a lot farther to explain the bizarre music of the 60s.

I think Flaming puts it best:
Swimming through the scarlet sky
Traveling by telephone...

And of course, Sleeping on a dandelion.

Believe it or not Yellow Submarine is a drug reference also.
It was a barbituate (sp?) of some kind, yellow capsule.
They we're nic-named yellow submarines.

Paul DID say that it was about LSD. John DID say that it wasn't. Now, you'll choose the one you want to believe.

At the end of "I am the Walrus" there are people chanting "smoke pot, smoke pot, everybody smoke pot" not a lot of people notice that.

Yeah, agreed. Plus there are tons of quotes by Lennon on drugs, LSD in particular... Obviously they played a part somwhere in the Beatles's career.
Try to picture Beatles' carrer and/or songs without drugs!
It's quite a shame, but tripping is the best thing that some bands have ever did.
