Wow this is an early thread. A little sentimental looking through some the names who aren't "with us" any more.

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
everyone you meet
All that you slight
everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed "by the moooo-oooo-ooooo-oooon"

Wrong!

Where were you when I was burned and broken
While the days slipped by from my window watching
Where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless
Because the things you say and the things you do surround me
While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words
dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

I would also have that.

Along with:

"And it's too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around,
So have a good drown as you go down all alone,
Dragged down by the stone"

Actually, just all of Dogs.

Plus the first and last verses of Echoes.

"Mother will they put me in the firing line? Oooh Ah, is it just a waste of time?"
(love the little snarl on the word waste, send chills down my spine)

"There's a chill wind blowin through my soul and I think im growing old."

"I took a heavenly ride through our silence. I knew the moment had arrived for killing the past and coming back to life." - Coming Back To Life

"You shuffle in gloom in the sick room and talk to yourself 'till you die." - Free Four

"I've got a grand piano to prop up my mortal remains." - Nobody Home

All three of those are finer lyrical takes from the Pink Floyd catalog. A lot of good stuff to choose from. I also like the lyrics from "Sorrow", "Pillow Of Winds", and "Let There Be More Light" to throw in some lyrical works not yet mentioned.

"Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfell beneath the brave new sky?"

I don't know why, this lyric just really speaks to me

I love the lyrics in mother...it's not really the lyrics that are so great it's the way they are sang with so much emotion. Even though Roger couldn't sing like Dave...I think Roger sang with more emotion which scores more points in my book.

To me too.

BTW, it's "...brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky."

Empty Spaces

What shall we use to fill the empty spaces
Where waves of hunger roar?
Shall we set out across the sea of faces
In search of more and more applause?

What Shall We Do Now?

Shall we buy a new guitar?
Shall we drive a more powerful car?
Shall we work straight through the night?
Shall we get into fights?
Leave the lights on?
Drop bombs?
Do tours of the east?
Contract diseases?
Bury bones?
Break up homes?
Send flowers by phone?
Take to drink?
Go to shrinks?
Give up meat?
Rarely sleep?
Keep people as pets?
Train dogs?
Race rats?
Fill the attic with cash?
Bury treasure?
Store up leisure?
But never relax at all
With our backs to the wall.

It's kinda like "Fitter, Happier" by Radiohead isn't it.

To me anyway.
