Who is this Cave Animal?

Reckon I'll do the typical newbie introductions.

I'm one of the several species of small furry animals that digs grooving with a pict down in the damp darkness of Fingal's Cave.

Way back in 1972 when I was 16, I bought a cassette called Meddle. Wow! I became a Floyd fan for life then. Within the next year, Dark Side Of The Moon was released. I wore one album completely out and had to buy another. Since I couldn't get enough of Pink Floyd, I bought A Nice Pair too. Those 3 albums (4 if you count A Nice Pair as two) allowed me to survive my turbulent high school teenage years.

Throughout the next 32 years, I must admit that at times I drifted away from Pink Floyd a few times, but I always came back. If I was troubled, angry, or depressed... DSOM or Wish You Were Here or Meddle were always good soothing medicine to get me through bad times. I deeply regret never having an opportunity to seeing them live in concert.

My collection now includes all of the official releases, semi-rare colored vinyl promo records, several movies, and about 30 ROIO CDs (most of which were downloaded from the internet). I even made my own personal 6 CD box set that spans the entire history of PF. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Nice bio, cave animal! Welcome aboard, you'll fit in well here.
Nice to have yet another 'seasoned citizen' amongst us, too.
Fulgers, please add animal to the rolls of the "Unholy whatever-it-is-now". (our APFFN 'mature members' clique)

Thanks for the fantastic welcome to the machine and I appreciate the warnings about the tainted sheep dip and moldy cheese. By the way... which one's Pink?

Welcome my friend, I can relate to your 70's PF experience. I too, have had a similar one. I was 13 in the summer of '74, I had heard this song (1st one, off of Meddle) alot on the radio, and I thought ' wow these guys have a great new album DSOTM, they are a super group already' I bought those two casettes, and wore them out in a year, remember using scotch tape to splice them back together when they broke! Oh, and then WYWH, Animals, and the wall. I wonder if the group members truely know how much help they have been to people in depression or down-in-the-dumps or what have-you, as they have helped me enormously, enjoy all that you touch and all that you feel and all that is now and all that is Pink Floyd under the sun.
