melancholy dreams

i started to give up and fade away,
i started to fade until i saw it that day,
i saw the sky, so blue and clean,
i saw the sea, so warm and clean,
i walked on water and touched the sky,
i walked on air and said goodbye,
i watched you all fade inside the clouds,
i watched you all fade and i cried aloud,
dont leave me now, i need you today,
but today is the day i had to fade away,
i reached for the ground it was too far away,
i reached for the sea as i slipped away,
is this a dream, should i wake myself up?
or is this a drink, should i take another sip from the cup?
this warmth inside, where does it come from?
the cold i hide, from inside it does come.
the warmth inside takes me away,
not giving up, just fading in a way,
like drifting along a cool summer stream,
like im trapped inside a warm night's dream,
trapped in her arms ill never run away,
trapped is no word to describe how i feel today,
whole or complete is how she makes me feel,
but alone and cold is how i really feel,
she is but a dream i had a long time ago,
a dream i had that kept me alive but now i must let go,
drift away on a stream, cold as winter's snow,
fade away into a dream, sad as the last summer's glow.

Not bad. Predictable rhyming scheme. but not bad.

Sounds a little nursery-rhymish.
