So, what would be the next best thing? I was listening to samples of all of them and it seems as though some have that "Tin can drums" 80's sound and not really "Next in line" from a classic album like The Final Cut. Is post-Waters era Floyd really worth it? Is About Face worth it? Last edited by Poggle Zig; 07-13-2004 at 05:24 PM.

If you're looking for a non-80's sounding album which progresses nicely directly after The Final Cut, then get Roger's album The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking. You might be impressed. Then again, you might be disappointed.

Since you like the Final Cut, you'll likely prefer Rog's solo stuff. I'd get Amused to Death before I got Pros & Cons, but that's just me.

My vote would be to get Gilmour's 1st solo album, and then his 2nd solo album, 'About Face' before any of Roger's solo albums...but that's just me...

I'd say put Pro's and Cons in the nearest skip, but that's just me.

I also would recommend "The Division Bell"...it really is very good, much better than AMLoR. (And Mr. Right-Wing here likes ATD?! My jaw dropped when I read that.) |
