Does Anbody Remember Vera Lynn??

Well? does anybpdy remember Vera Lynn? Listened to her songs? had a relative (or maybe yourself ir your up there in years) seen her live? Anybody...

She does the song at the very beginning of The Wall movie, "The Little Boy Who Santa Clause Forgot", that's all I know of her.

Yeah, my grandmother used to have all her songs on her "hits from the blitz" 8-track collection... good stuff. Plus "We'll Meet Again" is at the end of Dr Strangelove.

that song "we'll meet again some sunny day" is @ the beginning of ITAOT, if you turn the volume up enough

There is a segment in the 1970's production "World at War" series (episode 14 - "It's A Lovely Day Tomorrow") currently being aired on The Military Channel where Vera's title song is sung over film clips of her visiting the Brits fighting in Burma in 1944. There is also a short clip of her talking about her experiences in the role of morale builder for the soldiers.

Interesting to we combination WWII history buffs and Floyd fans.

Nice one Daphne! I remember it well, particularly the satisfying "clunk" whenever the 8-track player switched between programs.
