Re: Anyone of you ..

.. listen to Enigma?

I know you guys don't look up to others mentioning other bands on here, but these guys are quiet good. Just wanted opinions.

Not even sure who the members are, sounds like samples put together though.

ex: Enigma - Prism of Life

and one more question I had.

Do anyone of you know songs that are really addictive, example being is ECHOES, where you just HAVE to listen to it again after you hear it for the first time, if so, let me know. Some classic pieces.

Thanks, Lucifer

Re: Anyone of you ..

Enigma is actually just one guy (and occasionally his bird). He's German.

Classic pieces of music include "Olsen Olsen" and "Flugufrelsarrin" by Sigur Ros, About 8/10th's of Metallica's 2nd and 3rd albums, "All I need" and "The word Hurricane" by Air and "Rhinoceros" by Smashing Pumpkins.

Although, just because it's my opinion, "doesn't necessarily make it fuckin' so".

Yeah??

Cheers,

Mark

Re: Anyone of you ..

"Cloudburst Flight" by Tangerine Dream (off Force Majeure LP); it will ride you hard and put you away wet.

"As" by Stevie Wonder (off Songs in the Key of Life); sublime

"White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane (Surrealistic Pillow); too darned short but excellent for all that.

Floyd on,
Byron

Re: Anyone of you ..

What a coincidence fixx. I just watched my Reservoir Dogs DVD last night.

Never heard of Enigma, actually. Except for the Publius one. Should I take it that Enigma is a recommended listen?

Re: Anyone of you ..

it has some of SOYCD or more likely Great Gig In the Sky similarity to it. Just slightly upbeat.

U have probably heard them allready somewhere just didn't know or catch the name, if you do have spare time to download somehting new for you..

Enigma: Sadness, Return To Innocence (there was a commercial of some sort where everything happens backwards and this sample was played), Prism Of Life, Endless Quest, Morphing Thru Time and I suppose Age Of Loneliness

Re: Anyone of you ..

Actually I've heard(and got) most of his stuff, it is vaguely similar to Great Gig. It is a very visual sort of music, like Floyd. Its just a pity that Sadness is not shown much on VH1.

Re: Anyone of you ..

Yeah I have all of Enigma's stuff. The earlier albums were better. He does a little too much singing, and starts sounding a little Pop'ish in the last two albums...especially the last one.

Endorphine has some pretty cool sounds...again it's a bit Great Gig'ish. For some more solid piano there's a Japanese chick called Kieko Matsui who is quite awe inspiring. You can have a read about her here

"Whisper from The Mirror" (album name) is very very good. Puts Ricky Wright out with yesterday's trash to tell you my honest opinion.

That's my ten cents worth.

Well I could have said it a little nicer...but it's still my opinion. One cannot help the way one feels.

Re: Anyone of you ..

Btw Lucifer Sam, it's not right that guys in here don't look up to others mentioning other bands, the "music-related babbling" forum is just for that.

Yes, Driven, you certainly could have said that in a more rational, diplomatic fashion...

Re: Anyone of you ..

Seriously though, FWr, you should check out that site and see what they say about her.

I'd been reading Law books for a few hours when I wrote that last night...so I was a little abrupt, sorry 'bout that (but haven't changed my opinion).
