you know, i used to really like this guy and then all of his songs started to sound the same, and now i watched his AOL sessions and really liked just him alone on the guitar and singing. Really good player, great lyrics when I can actually hear and understand them w/o the band. Dave Matthews. so sue me.

I like some Dave Matthews songs. I can't really say the rest of the songs suck because i've never listened to an album.

I think it is possible to appreciate music for what it is. Not comparing it to another band or another song. If you appreciate music simply for what it is then you will have a much more diverse music collection and you will be able to enjoy a lot more music. You will be a happier person.

Unfourtunetly, I am not capable of this on most accounts, and still my tastes are more diverse than most, that says a lot.

The worst thing to do is to critisize other people's opinions when you can't appreciate it yourself...

I've been spelling "appreciate" wrong haven't I?

I like to think that every song has some kind of redeeming quality, some more than others, of course. And yes, you're spelling 'appreciate' correctly.

Oh well thats good, it didn't look right to me.

Yeah, most music is made for honest purposes (people usually don't make music "just for the money") and in this case a certain level of appreciation is appropriate.

Of course we know that Zappa is only in it for the money.

Even music made mainly for money (mainstream pop) can still be good. Hilary Duff is a good example.

I think that RHCP is awesome. So is Incubus. The new Red Hot Chili Peppers isn't as good as the older stuff in my opinion. And Incubus is way awesome.
